I've been working in the mental health field since graduating in Psychology over 15 years ago.
I've worked in a variety of settings with presentations along the vast spectrum of mental health. This has involved work in the NHS, educational settings, charities and the private sector both short and long term.
As a counsellor in a GP's surgery and for South London and Maudsley Healthcare Trust I experienced many presentations under the umbrella terms of anxiety and depression. I've also worked in a low cost referral organisation and been running an established and successful private practice in East Dulwich for the past few years.
My work has ranged from supporting clients with long term complex diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and personality disorders to working with clients who have more general dissatisfaction searching for meaning .. and much more in between. This has led to an approach where whomever arrives at my door I aim to welcome and meet as an individual .. more than a diagnosis or problem. More commonly I find someone struggling to make sense and cope with life - shaped by experience looking for something else and a different way.
